Dr Shalini Balachander
Principal Dental SurgeonWith over 25 years of experience in general and cosmetic dentistry, Shalini is committed to making every visit a comfortable and positive one. She believes that dentistry is not just about teeth-it’s about building trust, relieving anxiety, and helping patients feel confident about their smiles. After graduating from the Pondicherry University, Shalini completed advanced training in cosmetic and restorative techniques. She stays current with the latest innovations in dental care, regularly attending seminars and workshops across the country. Known for her gentle touch and compassionate care, she takes time to listen to each patient’s needs and tailors treatments that work for their lifestyle. Whether she’s helping a child through their first visit or perfecting the profession, her goal is always the same: to create healthy, beautiful smiles that last a lifetime.
Being very passionate about music and singing, Shalini enjoys spending time with her family of 2 grown up children and Simba the Golden Retriever. She is also regularly volunteering at a local temple, and exploring new hiking trails
Dr Balachander Selvaraj
Dental SurgeonBalachander Selvaraj graduated from Pondicherry University in 2000. He is a General dentist with over 25 years of experience, with special interest in orthodontics and implantology. He is passionate about helping people feel confident in their smiles – whether that means straightening teeth or restoring them with advanced implant solutions. He believes in combining clinical expertise with a warm, personalised approach, so every patient feels comfortable, informed, and well cared for. He is a proud member of British Dental Association and British Orthodontic Society. Outside the clinic, Balachander enjoys reading books, watching films, and staying active through cricket and badminton. He also loves to travel and hike whenever he gets the chance – exploring new places helps him stay refreshed and inspired. These personal interests bring balance in his life and help him connect with people from all walks of life.
Dr Phil Caswell
Dental SurgeonGraduating from Leeds University in 1987, Phil has been a dedicated member of the dental profession for over three decades. Since 1990, he has worked at Chase Dental Practice, where he continues to enjoy his clinical work and strong patient relationships. Phil has served as a dental trainer and remains actively involved in the wider profession.
He has a keen interest in dental politics and currently serves as Chairman of the Staffordshire Local Dental Committee, helping to inform and support other dentists.
He has a special interest in minimally invasive dentistry and prevention, aiming to preserve natural tooth structure and promote long-term oral health.
Outside of dentistry, Phil is a long-time Bruce Springsteen fan, avid moviegoer, and enthusiastic member of the Barmy Army. He enjoys a good road trip, firing up the BBQ, and sharing a beer with friends
Dr Sivakumar Jayachandran
Specialist ProsthodontistDr Sivakumar Jayachandran is a GDC-registered Specialist Prosthodontist with over 25 years of experience in advanced restorative and implant dentistry. He is passionate about helping patients regain their smile, confidence and quality of life through personalised, evidence-based care.
His clinical interests include dental implants, full-mouth rehabilitation, tooth wear, crowns and bridges, dentures, and cosmetic smile makeovers. Patients value his calm, friendly approach and the time he takes to explain treatment options clearly.
Alongside clinical practice, Dr Jayachandran is Academic Lead for the MSc Implant Dentistry Programme at the College of Medicine and Dentistry, affiliated with Ulster University. He holds a PhD, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Fellow in the College of General Dentistry (FCGDent), and a Fellow in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FDS RCPS Glasg).

Mrs Jane Dale
Dental HygienistJane qualified as a dental hygienist at Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1987 and brings over 38 years of experience to Chase Dental Practice where she has been a valued team member since 1994. With a passion for gum disease prevention and periodontal care, Jane is known for her thorough gentle approach and her ability to put patients at ease. Her long-standing patients appreciate not just her clinical expertise, but also her friendly nature and genuine care.
Outside of work, Jane enjoys running, gardening, catching up with friends and holidays. She’s married, with two grown-up daughters and grandmother to beautiful children.
Mrs Angela Egerton
Senior ReceptionistAngela is a qualified Natational Certificate Dental Nurse for over 33 years, with a 2 year apprenticeship.She is a people person who loves spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors on walking holidays. When she is not out adventuring, she is usually at home with her cockapoo, who keeps her on her toes. She is known for being kind, approachable, and she is always happy to help.

Senior ReceptionistWith 8 Years Experience working in different practice NHS & Private, Charlotte is very passionate about providing high-quality patient care, and creating a warm welcoming environment. With a fun, bubbly attitude.
